Review methodology
A favorable badge never substitutes for evidence. Our workflow starts with service identity, official disclosures and current jurisdiction sources.
Source order
We prioritize official provider terms and disclosures for service-specific facts. Government statutes, regulators, the CFPB and the FTC support legal and consumer-protection explanations. Third-party commentary may help identify a question but does not establish a high-risk fact.
What we verify
- Brand, official domain, operator and whether the site is a lender, broker, referral service or lead generator.
- Published product types, amount ranges, rate or fee disclosures, funding claims and typical requirements.
- State exclusions and provider-level evidence before listing an offer as suitable for a state.
- Privacy, consent, credit-check and application-flow disclosures where accessible.
Unknown information
Unknown fields appear as *** or “verification pending.” They do not receive favorable sorting, but the official outbound destination remains listed unless the provider page returns 404.
Commercial relationships
Compensation may be earned from some outbound links, but payment does not make an offer verified, improve its status or remove risk disclosures. Borrow Radar does not sell placement as an editorial conclusion.
Updates and corrections
Material claims show a checked date. A source change, regulator update, ownership change or availability issue triggers a focused re-review of the affected record and pages.
